As a Product Designer, you’d be working in one of our cross-functional product teams for the Commerce team ensuring that the team makes the right calls by being in charge of the discovery and delivery phases of design. You would be a part of a small but great design team that believes in autonomy, collaboration and user-centricity., Interested? Here’s what you can expect from this role: 

A glimpse at your day-to-day:

  • You’ll be embedded in a cross-functional product team, working closely with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to better understand the context behind every problem
  • You’ll be talking to your design colleagues, and you’ll share your work, give and receive feedback regularly
  • You’ll be advocating for user-centered design, making sure it is a key part of discovery and solution processes
  • You’ll lead user research along with product managers and play back your research synthesis for your colleagues
  • You’ll create discussion guides, early concepts, and prototypes, then take them to users for feedback and iteration - we believe it’s important to building a great product
  • You’ll be working autonomously - you’ll be surrounded by people who are willing to help, but we trust you and your expertise
  • You’ll involve product engineers early and often in your process to ensure alignment - we believe in pairing and working collaboratively—a lot
  • You’ll run discovery workshops to understand the problems, align and ideate with your colleagues. We have finessed several of these workshop tactics over the years and documented them in our Design Playbook but we want you to execute and improve them when necessary
  • You’ll proactively spot opportunities and help determine the critical areas to work on

(We don’t expect you to know all of this coming into the role but we’ll provide the coaching to make sure you succeed!)

  • Has an online portfolio - showing a good mix of various product design skills through case studies 
  • Has previous experience in all parts of the product lifecycle - from problem definition to post-launch.
  • Is a user advocate - understanding user’s needs and making sure it’s represented in your product team
  • Open to collaborating in all phases of the design process with design, product and engineering colleagues
  • Be able to step back and focus on the holistic user experience 
  • Having a strong sense of what is good design and raising the bar when necessary
  • Good communication skills to articulate your design decisions to different audiences
  • Being comfortable with sharing your work early and discarding your own ideas to be able to iterate fast

 Bonus points if you have experience with…

  • Working in complex product environments
  • Various user research methodologies
  • Working within a team across different time zones
  • Planning and executing team discovery, design and brainstorm workshops
