The Data Whisperer

At Coveo, our Usage Analytic teams transports, analyze and manage billions of events from the use of our solution, resulting in a gold mine of information for us and our customers. The main problem? Giving them a practical and useful meaning!

This is where the Business Intelligence Developer comes into place. The tasks of this person are based on the optimization of business metrics and their communication via dashboards. We are therefore looking for a person who loves data, who analyzes, digs into the information he/she has in order to highlight the major trends (and the smallest worthy of mention too!). Needless to say, we will also expect that person to be able to be familiar with SQL and do his/her ETL pipelines to feed the dashboards built!

So, at work, when people are looking for a person to take out data, to analyze lots of different data and make sense of it, YOU are their first choice. For you, business intelligence is more than an interest at work, it's a passion! Sounds like you? We want to talk to you!

Your mission? Set up the basic template for our dashboards, which will be used by our customers, our sales team and after-sales service for the entire company. Then, build the specialized versions to our business lines. You will also participate in the development of functionalities by working with the R&D team to find the best solutions to customer problems. In the medium / long term? We want to build a team around you to make our data speak.

There is no typical day, but here is an example of what might be on your agenda:

  • You start your day by joining a scrum with the Machine learning team. They started adjusting their algorithm to consider some data that you wanted to start analyzing

  • You join a call to discuss the feedback of a major customer on a new data that you have highlighted: they enjoyed seeing a new aspect of their users behaviors that you have been following for two quarters, which allowed them to find a new trend they will be able to leverage

  • You take a few minutes to read the latest news about a competitor's products to see their position on the market compared to our product. This may be the key to setting next priorities

  • You spend time with our largest customers to guide their use of the solution and support our Customer Success team to help justify some improvements in the customer's workflow with tangible facts!

  • Early in the afternoon, you meet the technical leaders of our development teams to discuss the different trends in the e-commerce market. You make a round table to have their input and ideas on how to integrate these trends into their ongoing projects

  • You spend the rest of your day on Tableau, your head full of ideas for the "Dashboard" you are developing for the Commerce team

Do you have the vision and the analytical mind?

In order to be the ideal product analyst for this role, you need to be particularly talented in intelligence gathering, to be a pure strategist and have some knowledge of Database and Machine Learning to work with a team of experienced developers.

What we are looking for from our chosen candidate:

  • To be bilingual, which means having an awesome French
  • To be qualified with Business Intelligence software (Tableau is an asset)
  • To know basic notions of database (SQL) and UX / UI
  • An obvious enthusiasm for advanced technologies!
  • A taste for data collection from all kinds of platforms
  • To be able to manage projects and teams involved
  • To have a business mindset
  • To able to understand the different stages of production of a SaaS product according to Cloud Ops principles

In this particular role, you will be able to leave your mark in key features impacting not only in the lives of our customers, but also on the future of our company. Send your application and convince us that you are the right person!
