Our new LOB Leader

The Commercial Search leader has overall responsibility for the strategic direction and performance of this very exciting line of product-led growth business.  While the primarily role as we build this Line of Business (LOB) will be with Product / Development, the role will  coordinate with all teams involved in the line-of-business to ensure optimal alignment from market selection and prospecting, sales motion, through to success and advocacy and how we implement those functions across self-service and assisted channels. This includes market strategy, product requirements, product marketing, acquisition and conversion, customer-facing activities - including direct sales, pre-sales / sales engineering, alliances, SI partners - customer support, professional services, customer success, customer retention and customer advocacy.  This role reports directly to the CGO.

  • Overall Commercial Search Line of Business Leadership
    • Define, establish, and implement the strategic direction of the line of business
    • Alongside the CTO and VP Product Management, help to prioritize the product roadmap and new features / capability development in line with product-led and entry point growth requirements
    • Define marketecture and target markets selection and prioritization
    • Promote communication across all line of business functional areas to create alignment, including establishing a cadence for periodic line of business-wide conversations
    • Coordinate with functional area department heads to further the line of business, integrating objectives and ideas for organizational growth
    • Determines and manages key line of business metrics and reporting to track progress to quarterly goals
  • Sales and Marketing Leadership
    • Analyze and explore relevant market trends and direction, competitive landscape, and potential growth opportunities
    • Educate sales organization about value proposition of the product, positioning to customers, differentiation of the product vs. competitors, and nuances across different industry verticals
    • Define the product led awareness, acquisition, engagement, trial and ultimate trial conversion process, and the rules of engagement for when to engage sales and business development
    • Work with the Manager, Business Development and the CMO to maximize opportunity generation and pipeline development, ensuring ToFu & opportunity generation, bookings growth, and customer retention strategy
    • Ensure education and awareness of line of business capabilities across Coveo
    • Participate as appropriate in the sales process and opportunity generation
    • Coordinate with the VP, Strategic Alliances and Alliances Directors to manage and further key existing partnerships (Salesforce, Sitecore, and ServiceNow) and several system integrators, and identify, develop, and execute new potential alliances
  • Professional Services, Customer Support, and Customer Success
    • Ensure the design of successful methodologies, content and learning material for deployment success and to drive adoption - assisted, but particularly unassisted with triggers for when to engage with assistance
    • Coordinate with the Professional Services organization to delight customers with fast and easy implementations
    • Develop and maintain healthy client relationships; participate as client sponsor where and when appropriate
    • Ensure customer retention and expansion by working with counterparts from the Customer Management, Technical Support, and Customer Success organizations

Interesting? This is what you’ll need to be successful in this role:

  • Technical or Business Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience (MBA is preferred);
  • 10+ years proven work experience with an ideal mix of marketing, strategic, technical and business background;
  • Product Marketing or Product Management leadership experience team in a technology-oriented, product-led growth driven business;
  • Experience with driving product-led growth, developer marketing and building/supporting developer communities
  • Ability to balance marketing strategy, vision and tactical execution in a fast paced environment;
  • Exceptional leadership skills and proven ability to work across an organization to drive alignment and process definition
  • Excellent planning, organizational and project and deadlines management skills; 
  • Strong presence, excellent presentation, written and verbal communications skills coupled with a high energy to present ideas and results to Executives;
