Our Information Systems team offers shared services to the entire Coveo team while being the Customer #1 of Coveo’s Product team. Have you already heard about our famous Coveo for Workplace solution for customers like Manulife, Dell, Adobe and Workday? Are you interested in working in a strut environment within a bigger, stable and mature organization? It's time to join this great team and put your talent to work!

There won’t be a typical day in this role, but here is what one might look like:

  • Start the day with a coffee or a tea. Get to your 9:00 scrum meeting to discuss the progress of the new Workplace feature due in the next 2 weeks.
  • Take time with your team mate, a front-end development enthusiast, to integrate user-facing elements with server side logic.
  • Get back to your desk, start your music player and get in the zone to write secure code for Coveo@Coveo. You are connecting with your colleagues at Coveo from R&D and Professional Services teams to learn best practices in case something blocks you.
  • Before you run for lunch with the rest of the team, you take some time to do a simple QA, troubleshooting and debugging on a page you are planning to roll out at the end of the week. You might also glance through potential performance optimization recommendations.
  • You take time to think of the next upcoming task. Recently, the marketing team asked you to index a system that is not out-of-the-box for Coveo Insight Engine. You’ll have to dig into the API and work your way through it to fulfill the requirement. It is exciting, because your success will increase employee productivity, product adoption rate, and help the Product Management team to make a case on the feature roadmap.
  • Finally, to wrap up the day, you join the Information Systems department for an end-of-day beer session. You are excited to see that the team grows every month, and the company recognizes the vital role you play in the company’s success. Rest well, this is just the beginning of an exciting journey!

Enough of the fluff! Here is what will be your scope of tech responsibilities:

  • Guide contributors for org configurations and review their PRs
  • Migrate VM server code to AWS (for AD crawler or HR system)
  • Manage CES Migration/End-of-life
  • Test and leverage newest Coveo back-end features
  • Analyse benefits and manage eventual CoveoSearch/Coveo orgs merge
  • Process Coveo Cloud org related maintenance Jiras
  • Monitor Coveo Cloud orgs (4) daily for errors and contributions
  • Act on all org errors to find cause and resolve
  • Manage Coveo Cloud org privilege granting
  • Assist R&D teams to test new back-end features
  • Document org management and contribution guidelines
  • Review team mate and contributor PRs

Unifying, empowering and relevant

We are looking for someone like you… As the back-end guru,  you’ll have a significant influence on the company's workplace platform and work with cutting-edge technology that will be used by hundreds of employees.

First of all, we look for curiosity, drive and ownership of your work. However, the following hard skills will catch our attention:

  • You have 3 to 5 years of experience as a full-stack or back-end developer.
  • You read everything you can about back-end web development. This is a passion to you!
  • You have experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Python, Rest APIs and you get all excited when you try a new framework.
  • You understand the technologies and languages which power the web such as HTML, CSS and Front-End JavaScript.
  • You worked with cloud platforms like AWS.
  • You have in-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment).

Other things that will raise our eyebrows, nice-to-haves:

  • You have a personal portfolio that perfectly showcases your work.
  • You have a strong sense of ownership and leadership; if your colleagues ever joke that you are a control freak, you know it is for the greater good.
  • You are a curious go-getter with the ability to navigate between  obstacles to create solutions along the way. I see a tech lead material right here!

We have a fit? In this particular role, you’ll have the chance to work on an internal real estate used by hundreds employees daily, boosting their productivity, performance, and removing silos within the company, one query at a time. If you have what it takes to join our web task force,  send us your resume along with your Github profile and convince us that you are a must-have rather than a nice to have.  Join the  #CoveoLife!
