At Coveo, the Backend Foundation team plays a critical role in driving the standardization and optimization of backend practices across our Research & Development teams. As a Backend Developer in this team, you will be at the heart of the Coveo Relevance Cloud™ Platform, working on core systems that empower our developers to focus on building impactful business solutions.
Your mission is to help standardize practices to accelerate R&D backend development, ensuring that all outputs maintain high quality and scalability. You will support the development teams with the tools, libraries, and templates they need to work efficiently, while also tackling cloud infrastructure challenges that come with maintaining a modern AWS environment.
Here is a glimpse at your responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance base services which powers the platform services in production.
- Develop and manage essential tools and libraries used across R&D teams.
- Ensure the reliability and scalability of central backend facilities that power the platform.
- Provide technical guidance and support to ensure that new features align with the overall system architecture and platform goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve blockers, ensuring that developer needs are met in a timely manner.
- Contribute to all phases of the development process, from system design and implementation to deployment and ongoing maintenance in production.
Here is what will qualify you for the role :
- A minimum of 5 years experience backend development within a cloud environment ( AWS an asset), with a good knowledge of Java (Spring Boot an asset).
- Demonstrated experience in producing reusable code & work on large systems, with a complex infrastructure and/or with a large user base.
- Exceptional resourcefulness and growth mindset.
What would make you stand out :
- Familiarity with Terraform, Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with CI systems such as Github Actions or equivalent.
- Experience with open source libraries.
