Conceptualize the foundation of our business intelligence practice

At Coveo, our teams generate a lot of data for their activities. For example, our Marketing team creates an enormous number of new leads, the Support team opens an infinite number of tickets, the Finance team plays with tables full of predictive analytics, costs of acquisitions, cohort analysis and even more.

The main challenge? Make this data speak to extract practical insight and have information at a glance. This is where the BI Architect comes in play as part of our brand new Business Intelligence team. Your main mission will be to conceptualize and implement a methodology to store, consume, integrate and maintain our data for the internal commercial users.

Does the world of data fit within your passions and the business discussions interest you as much as understanding the underlying issues? This role is ideal for you! We have a team of analysts which is ready to support your business initiatives to manage quality control and data flows on the internal data. Come help us make our Business Intelligence team even more performant and become an essential contributor to our company. There is one thing we understand better than anyone else - data is our greatest asset!

There is no typical day at Coveo, but here is an example of what you may find in your agenda:

  • Prepare yourself a cup of coffee or tea once you arrive at the office (6:30 or 9 AM, your call!) and chat with one of your colleagues form the support team about the exciting newest tool they have been using lately.
  • Join a videoconference with our Enterprise Architect, CIO, and multiple leaders from various teams in addition to your colleagues from the Business Intelligence teams. Today you are attending the second demo from a data visualization tool provider. You have prepared a list of specific questions for occasion. We are soon finishing the selection of the tools to use within our new BI team.
  • You take a few minutes to read the news about new tech right before heading out for your meeting with the Marketing team. Together you identify various systems used which will be taken into account when creating the new data architecture.
  • Lunch break… You may probably visit a Lunch & Learn or participate in one of our activities (gym, video games, pool, BBQ on our terrace). It’s important to recharge the batteries for a busy afternoon!
  • You spend time with the rest of the team which mainly consists of analysts who, just like you are, love numbers. They tell you about their reality and the requests from the internal clients. This type of meeting will certainly be a weekly recurring event since it helps you understand each departments’ needs (data flow, systems interactions, general data management, metadata etc.).
  • You take the rest of your afternoon time to map the data flow for an account we have just signed. You make sure the quality of data is maintained throughout the process and search for ways to optimize the data flow.
  • Just before closing your laptop, you reply to a few emails to receive replies by the start of your day tomorrow. You realize your expertise really make a difference here! Go ahead, get some rest, tomorrow will be just as busy!

Do you have the analytical spirit and an ability to get to the essence of things?

To be a BI Data Architect within our BI team, you should have the required skills in addition to the interesting personality. Do they often tell you are an excellent listener? Are you patient and eager to embrace the change? And you are more than comfortable with numbers, it is your passion? Are you able to adapt your communication based on the listener you are talking to? If you fit the aforementioned characteristics, we want to know more about you.

We definitely want to hear more about the following:

  • Your presentation skills in English and French
  • Your reflex to organize work in logical procedures that evolve with the rhythm of the challenges that come towards you
  • An enthusiasm for technologies like Python, SQL, AWS, etc.
  • Your past experiences in building architecture for complex databases
  • Your knowledge of BI tools and the ETL process
  • Your certifications… We have not decided yet but we are curious to hear more if you have it.
  • Your opinion on different methodologies that exist in the market

Do we have a fit? Your impact will be large and will allow multiple teams to accomplish their best. Send us your application and convince us that you are the right person for us. Join the #CoveoLife!
