When I first joined Coveo, the Montreal team consisted of ten individuals. In the last two years, we exceeded our growth expectations in Montreal at an incredible rate. In fact, we expected to have 50 employees by the end of 2018. The year isn’t done yet, we already hired more than 70 employees within Montreal and there are still open positions. From having a few desks at WeWork, to relocating to the historic Windsor Station, our story in Montreal has been one of growth – and this story is far from over. Our current reality is this: we’ve outgrown our not-so-new home in the Windsor Station so we’re moving again. Luckily we’re not going too far! We love the Windsor Station so much so we’ve decided to stay and we’re taking over the fourth and fifth floors of the building and renovating our spaces to truly reflect the #CoveoLife. Our goal is to employ a total of 225 employees in Montreal by 2020.
There are many dedicated people working behind the scenes at Coveo to make this expansion a seamless transition and I’m happy to be one of them. Known as “Uncle Karl” around the office, I’m responsible for the HR needs of the Montreal office, and also a dedicated Human Resources Business Partner for the Global Services department.
The Montreal team and culture is an extension of our headquarters in Quebec City, which is nothing short of outstanding. It’s a great feeling to come into a workplace where everyone shares the same core values, has the same passion, and even laughs at the same terrible dad jokes. It’s even more incredible to see firsthand how Coveo is taking active steps to support the Canadian economy by hiring local talent, giving back to local charities and projects, and developing a world-class AI solution that puts Canadian organizations on the map and positions them as true leaders in their space.
Our goal of 225 employees by 2020 is ambitious but I have no doubt we’ll have top talent under our roof in no time.
