At Coveo, AI is at the core of what we build. Our technology uses AI to make digital experiences more relevant, from helping people find the right information to delivering personalized recommendations and answers.

It also shapes how we work. We use AI to work more efficiently, explore ideas, and solve problems. In fact, AI helped us draft this page. Our team reviewed, challenged, and edited the output before publishing it. That’s the kind of AI use we encourage: use the tool, but make the thinking your own.

We believe candidates in our interview process should be able to use AI thoughtfully, too.

Preparing your application

AI can be a great tool to help you put your best foot forward. Use it to sharpen how you present your experience, not to create an experience that isn’t yours. Always double-check AI-generated content for accuracy.

✓ You may use AI to:

  • Review your resume for clarity and structure
  • Help organize or refine a cover letter
  • Research Coveo and the role you’re applying for
  • Prepare and practice for your interview

✕ What to avoid:

  • Adding skills or experiences you don’t have
  • Letting AI speak for you instead of reflecting your own experience and perspective

Your application doesn’t need to sound perfect. It should sound like you.

During interviews

AI can be useful during an interview, as long as it helps you stay engaged in the conversation rather than answering for you.

✓ You may use AI to:

  • Keep track of questions you’d like to come back to later
  • Refer to notes or questions you prepared beforehand

✕ What to avoid:

  • Using AI to generate answers to questions in real time
  • Relying on AI to respond or solve problems for you
  • Recording, transcribing or sharing interview content with AI without Coveo’s authorization

We want to understand how you think, communicate, and approach problems. We want to have a conversation with you, not with an AI assistant.

If you use assistive technology or need an accommodation, contact your recruiter so we can discuss what will work for you.

During assessments and challenges

AI can be a useful tool when working through an assessment or challenge, and you’re welcome to use it to support your work. What matters to us is how you use it and how well you understand the work behind what you are presenting.

Be prepared to talk about:

  • How and why you used AI
  • How you evaluated or verified its suggestions
  • What you changed, questioned, or disagreed with
  • The trade-offs you considered
  • How you arrived at your final solution

We’re not evaluating how well you can prompt an AI tool. We want to understand your thinking, your skills, and your judgment. You should be able to explain your work and go beyond what the tool gave you.

✕ What to avoid:

  • Entering confidential Coveo information, interview materials, or another person’s personal information into a public AI tool

How we use AI in recruitment

We use AI to support our recruitment team at different stages of the hiring process, from helping us draft job descriptions to taking notes during interviews.

During some interviews, we use an AI-powered note-taking tool to capture and organize the conversation, allowing our interviewers to spend less time typing and more time focused on you. AI helps us work more efficiently, but the decisions that shape our team remain human. Our recruitment team remains responsible for evaluating candidates and making final hiring decisions.

It’s one of the ways we can embrace new technology while staying focused on what matters most in recruitment: getting to know great people and finding the right fit for both you and Coveo.

Not sure? Ask us.

AI is evolving quickly, and not every situation will fit neatly into a guideline. If you’re ever unsure about when or how you can use AI during our recruitment process, ask your recruiter.

We value transparency, so we’d much rather have the conversation than leave you wondering what’s expected.
