Matt Williams

Matt Williams is a Tech Lead for Retrieval and Ranking at Coveo. He has over ten years of experience in building AI-powered experiences, and has particular interests in NLP, information retrieval, ML, search at scale, and agentic retrieval. Prior to joining Coveo in 2023, his mission was making everyday cooking fun at the global recipe service Cookpad, where he was Principal Engineer for Search and Discovery. In a previous life, Matt was a Research Scientist in academia, focusing on predictive user modelling and network science. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Cardiff University, where he was also a lecturer. He once co-authored a scientific paper about beer.
