April 21, 2010 Update (Build 3887)

  • Now supports Windows XP (Pro and Enterprise editions - Expresso must still be installed on a server member of a Windows domain).
  • Improved Outlook Sidebar
    1. Now possible to search through SharePoint, File Shares and Desktop content.
    2. Now possible to refine search with facets (filters).
  • New end-user documentation.
  • Simplified configuration and error management.
  • Users can now be provisioned by email using Coveo’s mailing system instead of requiring a local SMTP server.
  • Images from file shares are now indexed.
  • Now powered by Coveo Enterprise Search 6.1, thus providing the following performance improvements:
    1. Better handling of parallel queries with smarter locking, which improves the average answer time of queries on instances that receive a heavy load of concurrent queries.
    2. Improved folding algorithm for email conversations.
    3. Queries containing numerical or date operations are faster.
    4. Faster exact phrase matching for queries.

March 5, 2010 Update (Build 3850)

  • Fixed an issue that prevented files whose path contained an accent (é, à, etc.) from being opened via the result list
  • Fixed issues that caused Desktop Connector item counts (from the User Content panel) to report invalid (underestimated) values
  • Fixed an issue where some instances were not able to get a new license nightly
  • Fixed displaying issues in the Outlook Sidebar on computers using Internet Explorer 6.0

December 8, 2009 Update (Build 3776)

  • Fixed a problem where using Outlook 2003 prevented the backspace key from working in the search box
  • Embedded images in email are no longer indexed
  • Fixed a bug where selecting an email in some versions of Outlook caused Catastrophic Failure
  • Fixed a problem that caused the Administration tool to display a message suggesting that Expresso is out-of-date, even when the software is up to date
  • Items stored as a PST file no longer appear in the My Files interface
  • Fixed a potential error that could be caused by creating several sources with names that differ only in casing

November 25, 2009 Update (Build 3755) - cumulative with Nov 19th update

  • Resolved an issue where file shares would not start indexing due to certain characters, such as ‘&’, appearing in the initial URL
  • Resolved an issue that caused the system to hang after a File Share was deleted
  • Resolved some installation and upgrade issues regarding Windows 7
  • Resolved an issue that caused the Desktop Search Bar (floating bar) to occasionally disappear
  • Added the links to download the Desktop Integration Package to the administration tool for easier copy/paste
  • Resolved an issue that prevented certain existing file shares from being deleted
  • Fixed a memory leak found in the administration tool when using Internet Explorer
  • Fixed some miscellaneous minor bugs
