Based on familiar search platforms so users can search intuitively, Coveo Enterprise Search also includes:
- Dynamically created search facets and clusters to drill down and navigate through results
- Quick Views of document content (HTML rendering) for fast and optimal display on mobile devices and PCs, using less bandwidth
- Search and display of any metadata or content field
- Personal and collaborative rating mechanism to rank results for next queries
- Thumbnails of documents
- Intelligent folding of email items in a conversation, as well as attachments under their parent, etc.
- Contextual actions on various types of items (emails from a person, other emails in same conversation, all CRM actions, etc.)
- Super User Access, where an administrator can allow specific users to bypass all security checks access to the entire content of the index or allow them to perform a query as a specific user. This access is useful for searching locations such as an ex-employee’s mailbox.

Application Programming Interface (API)
Coveo’s application programming interface (API) operates using .NET controls, Web Services and COM APIs for integration and development of search-based applications:
- Heavy customization of the search interface appearance and behavior is possible, using ASP.NET and Microsoft Visual Studio
- Integration with custom security systems, with support for Single Sign On and SAML.
- All searches and administration tasks can be accomplished using the API
