Coveo Enterprise Search Supports SOX and HIPAA Compliance, and Reduces the Time to Find Procedural Information by 35%
Quebec City, Canada; Palo Alto, California - August 22, 2006 -Coveo Solutions Inc., a leading provider of secure search for the enterprise, today announced that the California Conservation and Liquidation Office (CLO) has chosen Coveo Enterprise Search (CES) to streamline the audit process, support SOX and HIPAA compliance.
"As a highly regulated entity, we are in a constant state of audit so we needed a search engine that was highly secure, highly accurate, yet easy to use for both users and auditors", said Mohammed Mojabi, IT Networks Operations Manager. "Coveo Enterprise Search is very straight forward, easy to implement, and gets the job done."
CLO, an extension of the California Department of Insurance, regulates all insurance companies operating in California. The office manages insolvency, asset distribution, claimant lawsuits and disbursements; during conservation, the office routinely determines if an insurance company can be rehabilitated and continue operations. CLO maintains extensive forms, policies and change control documentation on an intranet available to both employees and state auditors. To maintain SOX and HIPAA compliance, CLO is required to ensure that all processes and change controls are current, and each step in any procedure is implemented without deviation. CES helps users and auditors quickly find current forms and documented procedures, reducing the time it takes to find information by 35%. In addition to the time saved, CLO experiences minimal compliance violations and more efficient audits.
"At the heart of most regulatory requirements is consistency in processes and procedures", said Laurent Simoneau, President and CEO, Coveo Solutions Inc. "Secure information access is the foundation for achieving this consistency, and without it regulatory compliance is virtually impossible."
About California Conservation and Liquidation Office
The California Conservation and Liquidation Office is comprised of insurance professionals who oversee departments that operate and liquidate insurance companies. The CLO was created by the Commissioner to assist him in fulfilling his duties as a court-appointed Conservator and Liquidator. Conservation occurs when the Insurance Commissioner, upon a Superior Court's order, takes over operations of an insurance company licensed in California. Liquidation is the process whereby the Commissioner, upon a Superior Court's Order, terminates an insurance company's insurance business by canceling all insurance policies and not renewing any new or renewal policies. To date, in 2006, the California Conservation and Liquidation Office has disbursed over $1B in claimant funds.
